Develop, manage & maintain the land and water resources, irrigation and drainage systems, farm structures, campus landscaping & orchards
Plan & organize the irrigation operations including maintenance & upkeep of the total system including the range of irrigation equipment
Plan and organize Plant Protection & Surveillance operations, monitoring pest populations, ensure timely spraying operations, through sound and safe management practices to meet research requirements
Organize the landscaping operations, maintenance of lawns, avenue trees, nursery and fruit orchards
Plan, develop, maintain & upgrade of lakes, culverts, spillways, irrigation & drainage structures, farm roads, peripheral fence & farm sheds
Assist in Natural Emergencies; Flooding, Fire Fighting in the campus
Assist the Head Farm & Engineering Services in overall management of the farm
Assist in training of NARS & other partners in Research Farm Management
Organize in-house training programs on capacity building activities; Farm Operations & Farm Safety
Develop/ improve/ Upgrade operations with the focus on quality, safety and efficiency.
MSc in Agriculture / B. Tech Agriculture Engineering with minimum 15 years of experience
Expertise in soil & water conservation, irrigation and drainage systems, land development, farm structures & ground maintenance
Good knowledge of mechanized farm operations and Research farm management
Proficiency in English communication skills (both written and spoken)
Good computer skills, knowledge of GIS & Total station survey
Coordinate with research staff, liaise with NARS, public and private agricultural enterprises
Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team
This is a Scientific / Managerial Position (SMG) position for three years renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institutes continuing need for the position.
